It is not that I am a health nut, I'm not, I do watch what what I eat but I am not overboard about it, I just pay attention. I eat cookies, cake, brownies, not a big candy fan but I love any pastries that are homemade, rich and chocolatey. I try to eat lots of fiber and fresh veggies and fruit, but I certainly don't live on tofu and veggie burgers.

I try to limit fast food and artificial anything, but not to excess. I just would rather stay active and not die of cancer before my time. I exercise regularly and try to get enough sleep but have been caught several times reading way past midnight. I just figure moderation in all things serves us best. But what is the deal with soda? Are we a nation of only soda drinkers? Every time I go to a restaurant and asked what I would like to drink, I always answer that I would like water with a lemon in it.

It isn't a matter of cost, although I would hate to pay two dollars or more for a soda, it is a matter of taste. Even if a free drink comes with the meal, I like water with lemon. So waiters and waitresses out there, give me a break, I don't want carmel coloring, sodium, artificial sweeteners, artificial stimulants, acids with my fries, is that a crime? I will tip well, I will use that extra two dollars I saved and give it to the waitress, but don't make me feel like a smoker on a non-smoking airplane just because I like water with meals.


Enjoy your Coke, diet Coke, Orange Soda, root beer, Sprite, Dr. Pepper or Mountain Dew, drink it with pleasure and pride, but let me sip my water happily and in peace, thank you. I am neither a health nut nor cheap, I just like my water!
