Owning And Caring For Exotic Birds

Published by Aydan Corkern in Pets and Animals, 1 month 3 weeks 4 hours 57 minutes 9 seconds ago

Have you ever been in a local pet store and seen all the birds? Some of them have some of the most beautiful looking feathers because they are so colorful. If you looked at them just right, you would think that their feathers were on fire. Most of the birds that are like this you might not find in a lot of pet stores, but they can be ordered and they are pretty pricey.

Most people usually don't go for these kinds of birds because of the fact that they are pretty hard to take care of. Some aren't good to have around children as they might carry some pretty bad germs. If you know someone that might have one of these types of birds, you might want to get with them first and ask them a few questions about the birds and the care that might be required before you get one yourself.

The owners of these birds would be someone that doesn't have children and has someone who comes in to clean up after the birds, such as a big company or a zoo. If you would just like to see all of these birds together, you will want to go to the zoo because they have all kinds in all different colors and sizes. Have you ever seen a peacock up close? I have and they are beautiful. Their colors are just impossible to even imagine unless you get to see them up close. A friend of ours used to have several at his home, but he once told us that these birds were such an annoyance that he wished he had never gotten them.

He always had to worry about how these animals would get around his grandchildren and I saw firsthand what he meant. One time we went to his home and these beautiful birds were sitting on top of his home and just screeching at the top of their lungs. In some ways, this was unnerving to us adults and scary to young children. None of us were ever close enough to pet these animals because you never knew if they would have even let you get close enough. If you had gotten close enough, you didn't know what kinds of germs they might have had on the feathers or skin. Of course our friend was telling us that he didn't want us to even try. He did give me a feather, though, and I had it for years.
