The Latest Inflatable Water Slide Craze Will Make Your Next Party a Splashing Success

The popularity in recent years of inflatable party toys has been phenomenal. It used to be that the professional bouncy houses were only found at carnivals and other major production events. But soon I began to see them popping up at local birthday parties and even for sale to the average consumer at retail stores.
I think the escalating interest in them has taken off because it's a way to let off steam and energy in a fun and relatively safe environment. This was evident to me when I attended an elementary school birthday party last summer. When it got late and the party died down for the children, the adults (who perhaps had a beer or two throughout the day) proceeded to bounce away on the kids' jumpy house when we were alone.
The popularity stems from the fact that something inflatable is generally more comfortable and safer than hard plastic, steel or wood which ultimately allows you to go crazy. Add some water and you have a recipe for another inflatable flavor of fun, the inflatable water slide party rental.
I have only found places that you can rent this now very popular item, but I am sure that like the bouncy houses they will be available in the retail market soon. The dry versions of the inflatable slides are available in retail stores, but they are in the same category as the jump/bounce houses. Please note that the dry slides are not to be used as water slides unless it is specifically designed for both wet and dry sliding. Now, there are a few cautions that need to be addressed before you get your heart set on an inflatable water slide for your next fiesta. Get the full details on the setup from your party rental supplier. They usually recommend that you set the slide in the middle of the lawn and let the water run on the grass. Sounds simple enough but if you do not have proper drainage on your lawn, this could lead to a muddy disaster. Usually areas with drainage systems properly set up are on hard surfaced areas like driveways, or concrete patio areas, both of which are not really suitable for water slides as you generally want to stay away from hard slippery surfaces with wet, running, and excited children (and adults!).
Also, when the party rental company comes to pack up the water slide, you may find extra charges included I you did not empty out the water properly. Or as I mentioned before, if they come back to pick up a rental that is now 2 feet under a mud bog, there will be extra charges.
Once you have the full detail on what the water slide rental entails, and if you have the proper space to set one up, the possibilities for kids' parties and summer adult parties are endless. After our 5-year old daughter's birthday party, we kept the 25 foot inflatable water slide and used it for our neighbor's Hawaiian Luau fiesta the following weekend for a pig roasting blowout.
