When most people think of magic, they think of either elaborate shows on the Las Vegas strip, or silly children's shows held in the backyard birthday party, right beside pony rides & birthday cake. Magic today has an entirely different place, however one that is not reserved for elaborate entertainment in Las Vegas or silly private entertainment in the backyard. Children's magicians today are in high demand - many libraries, schools, churches, youth organizations, and charities are calling upon children's magicians to add an inspiring, informational, and of course - entertaining - dimension to their event. A successful children's magician today has moved past birthday parties and has entered the arena of education and events.
For example, a school might hire a magician to entertain their students while weaving the principles of self-esteem, self-respect, and respecting other people through the performance. Both libraries & schools have benefited from using magicians to entertain kids while encouraging them to read, increase their literacy, and learn to enjoy books. Churches can also benefit from magicians - churches have been utilizing magicians in summer camps, Vacation Bible School programs, and children's events for some time now.
The reason it's so successful for these various organizations? Kids have a greater ability to absorb information when they are drawn into the message through entertainment and mystery.
